JADE
Jade: The "stone of the loins" is how the Spanish refer to jade - "piedras de ijada" - and it is from this colorful phrase that we derive the English name for this most unusual of gems. Jade is tougher than granite and more difficult to carve than solid steel. Long associated with the Chinese culture, Jade was actually used by the Central American Mayan civilization hundreds of years before it attained a royal position in the Middle Kingdom. The Mayans used it for weapons and tools.
The "Stone
of Heaven" was very influential with the Chinese emperors.
For almost a thousand years, jadeite was used for courage, wisdom, justice, mercy,

harmony.
